Cabranes is a gently hilly council, surrounded by meadows, lush valleys and, above all, native forests which make up a landscape of great natural beauty, quiet, rural and ideal to enjoy tranquility, inviting nature lovers to follow some of the marked routes or simply walk the many paths and trails that offer stunning views over the main mountains of our region (Picos de Europa, Sierra del Sueve, mountains of the natural park of Redes) and on the Cantabrian coast (natural reserve of the Villavicosa estuary).
You can also enjoy panoramic views from the leisure area of Peña Cabrera, with a newly created green path parallel to the course of the River Viacaba. A privileged area for the lovers of mushrooms.

We cannot miss the museums of Cabranes, where daily life in the Asturian farmhouse and rural school of yesterday are recreated. Next to the museum stands St. Julian of Viñón, temple which shows the transition from the pre-Romanesque to the Romanesque style. The cuisine has its role in the council, the beans, the pitu of caleya, the honey ... but mostly rice pudding and boroña, with the celebration of the rice pudding Festivals in Santa Eulalia (the second Sunday in May) and the boroña Festival in Torazo (the first Saturday of June).
